Summary

During a research internship with the Earthbyte Group I modeled the quaternary landscape evolution of the Gulf of Papua using the Badlands code. This work evolved over the next year to also include reefs and carbonate growth. The landscape evolution model includes a range of input data and is coupled with tectonic models.

We created a source-to-sink landscape evolution model over the last 2 million years. Here are some animations where you can see our model of the erosion and deposition through time in the Gulf of Papua.
